Un año más el Día del Libro y, aunque es cierto que algunos de nuestros amigos ya no contestan cuando pasamos lista, están con nosotros y espero que Borges estuviera en lo cierto cuando decía que "Yo siempre me había imaginado el Paraíso bajo la especie de una biblioteca", porque estarán disfrutando de lo lindo buscando sus lecturas preferidas.
Para mí leer es tan necesario como respirar; es la única explicación que sé dar cuando me preguntan por qué me gusta tanto.
Otros, con más talento, han sabido dar mejores razones.
(Another Book Day and although it is true that some of our friends do not answer when we take the roll call, they are with us and I hope that Borges was right when he said: "I have always imagined that Paradise will be a kind of library" because they must be enjoying their soul looking for their favourite reading.
For me, reading is as necessary as breathing; it's the only answer I can give when asked why I like it.
