The Library of Strahov, Prague, Czech Republic, goes back to the 12th century, when the Premonstratensian monastery was founded. It contains an impressive collection of about 200,000 old prints, mostly from the period between the 16th and the 18th century, around 3,000 manuscripts and 1,500 first prints. One of the most precious items is the Strahov Evangeliary from the 9 th century, with Romanesque and Gothic decoration.

Photographer Jeffrey Martin shot 3,000 individual photos over a period of five days, then stitched them together into a single image that is 280,000 x 140,000 pixels. The image reveals the highest resolution view of any interior space that has ever been captured. In the image, thousands of priceless, ancient books are visible, and the fresco on the ceiling of the library is captured down to the brush strokes and cracks in the plaster. If you printed this photo it would be 23 meters long!
El fotógrafo Jeffrey Martin tomó unas 3.000 fotos durante cinco días, para luego juntarlas en una sola imagen de 280.000 x 140.000 píxeles. La imagen posee la mayor resolución que haya sido capturada nunca en una foto de interiores. Podemos ver miles de libros antiguos de valor incalculable, y en el fresco del techo de la biblioteca se pueden apreciar hasta las pinceladas y el resquebrajamiento del yeso. Si imprimiéramos la foto, ¡mediría 23 metros de longitud!
