Todos estos días sin tiempo para asomarme por esta página, demasiado ocupado en volver a la realidad. Ahora creo que ya lo he conseguido. Por eso, empecemos por unos "consejos" útiles tanto para estudiantes como para todos nosotros.
(All these days without time to come round here, too busy to return to reality. Now I think I've succeeded. So let's start with some useful tips for students and for all of us.)
Horario de deberes todas las noches (no debe pasar de 90 minutos):
— 15 minutos buscando el trabajo mandado.
— 11 minutos llamando a un amigo para preguntar por el trabajo mandado.
— 23 minutos explicando a los padres por qué el profesor es cruel y vil.
— 8 minutos en el baño.
— 10 minutos preparándose un tentempié.
— 7 minutos hojeando la programación de televisión.
— 6 minutos diciendo a los padres que el profesor nunca explicó la tarea.
— 10 minutos sentado a la mesa de la cocina esperando a que mamá (papá, hermano, hermana) hagan el trabajo.
(Nightly Homework Schedule (should not last more than 90 minutes):
- 15 minutes looking for the assignment.
- 11 minutes calling a friend to get the assignment.
- 23 minutes explaining to parents why the teacher is vicious and mean.
- 8 minutes in the bathroom.
- 10 minutes getting a snack.
- 7 minutes checking the TV Guide.
- 6 minutes telling parents that the teacher never explained the homework.
- 10 minutes sitting at the kitchen table waiting for Mom (Dad, brother, sister) to do the assignment.)
Trabajos a largo plazo:
Éstos se entregan la noche antes del vencimiento del plazo. "A largo plazo" es un lapso de tiempo que empieza a las 9:30 de la noche y termina a las 11:50.
Es importante que toda la familia esté involucrada en el proyecto, por lo tanto es fundamental que uno de los miembros de la familia corra a una tienda para comprar cartulina, carpetas, lápices de colores, etc. (Esto puede requerir varios viajes).
Es necesario que un miembro de la familia acabe en lágrimas (no tiene que ser el alumno). Uno de los padres tiene que quedarse hasta tarde y terminar el proyecto. (Long Term Assignments:
These are given the night before they are due. "Long Term" is a commitment to time that begins at 9:30 pm and ends at 11:50 pm.
It is important that the whole family is involved in the project so: It is imperative that one family member race to Walmart for poster board, folder, colored pens, etc. (This may require multiple trips).
It is imperative that one family member ends up in tears (does not have to be student). One parent needs to stay up and complete the project. (This may require several hours on the Internet researching the problem). The other parent needs to call the school to leave a message that the student will be out sick the following day.)
Claro que si queremos desarrollar nuestro talento como estos chicos que han hecho el vídeo, mejor replanteémonos la forma de trabajar, desde pequeños.
(Of course, if we want to develop our talent as these guys who have made the video, we'd better reconsider how to work, from an early age.)
